This wonderful fantasy coloring book contains 25 unique designs but you are given two copies of each there is a total of 50 design pages. The line drawings are of various types of dragons. There is a nice variety of dragon styles with all having a serious look about them. A few seem gentle in the hands of their human, with even the baby dragons, there is no mistaking that each one can be ferocious when necessary.Gray is used in a number of the illustrations for shading purposes. It's easy to color over and get a nice shade effect. The designs are quite detailed and some contain small and intricate areas to color.While you can have access to .PDFs when you purchase this book, my review is based on the book as it is received from Amazon. That way you will know what the pages look like and how they accept color. I like that the publisher provides the digital version as well so you can choose the paper you wish to use and/or to color the pictures as many times as you choose.This is what I found while coloring in this book and testing the paper with my coloring medium:25 x 2 each intricate and detailed dragon inspired designs for a total of 50 coloring pagesDesigns are printed on one side of the pagePaper is typical of CreateSpace: white, thin, slightly rough and non-perforated. The back of the page is printed black.The designs do not merge into the binding. There is a heavy framing line at the outer edges of the design.Glue Binding (there is room to cut the pages out if you choose to do so.)Though you cannot see the bleed-through easily due to the back of the page being printed in black, I recommend the use of a blotter page when working in this book. I use a page of card stock or several sheets of heavyweight paper under my working page. It keeps seeping ink and marring dents from ruining the pages below.Alcohol-based markers bleed through the page quickly.Water-based markers bleed through in spots.Gel pens and India ink pens leave shadows on back of the page. India ink can bleed through if you apply heavily or multiple coats.Coloring Pencils work well with this paper. I found that I could layers the same color for deeper pigment or multiple colors and I could blend easily using a blending stick. I tested both oil and wax based pencils. I also found that hard lead pencils leave dents through the paper.

I love-love-love this book, and I'll detail why.- -4 stars because of near-universal CON: Adult coloring books with almost NO space at the binding. Come on, publishers. Some do it, even when they also have serrated pages. One, it's easier to take apart for those inclined to remove pages. Two, though, some of us DON'T, and prefer to work out of a pad/book sometimes or usually and ESPECIALLY for thick books like this, it's a serious impediment. The pdf is a nice touch, but I buy books for a reason.- - -I hate to leave four stars because there's SO much good here.- The style is pretty universal, only minor variations, but there's a HUGE variety of subjects and tones.- Most of the images are pretty intricate, but there is some variety in complexity and a few/handful that have pretty simplistic lines ("simple genius" style here).- Imagery is appropriate for a guy or gal, pre-teen through pensioner, super-duper colorist or rendering artist through just-coloring-here types.- (I hate to put this in here, and be "that" person, but...) I was just struck by the respect for subjects here, and the presentation of realistic women instead of simplified girlie or pin-up styles that sometimes get used in fantasy drawings. Really and truly, lovely images. (There's only 1-3 that I'm just not interested in - skeletons & I forget what other(s)).- Plus, there's the double-book (images run through, then repeat) AND the pdf, so when you're torn over render style or color themes or want to try something, no problem and no pressure. Sneeze or dogs alert while following a line with a dark marker, no problem.- Gosh I love all the dragons! I have to say it again: TONS of VARIETY in here. Something for anybody, and TONS for lovers of dragons and the fantasy genre.Totally fantastic book.

I love the dragons coloring book. Each of the pictures have a different theme and each one is beautiful. The pages are detailed without being too detailed. A moderate colorist could finish a page in a couple of days. I am always impressed with a Jade Summer coloring book.

This product is made for dragon lovers who embrace the beauty that dragons bring. I am grateful for this coloring pages. The only reason I gave it a 4 because I am confused why there are duplicated pictures making seem you have more different pages of dragons.But besides that the realism of this fantasy creature is beyond lovely.

I absolutely love this book, got a free review copy and bought one, it's great and my niece loves it. I am going to get more products like from this author.

a great many of the pictures in this book look like a base picture was supplied as background and the artist;'s dragon was placed on top of it. The artist needs to pay attention to things like placement of the dragon wings. The positioning of the wings are in many cases impossible for flight movement. This artist also likes to use space fillers just to fill the page. Where is the tie in to the dragon? Why do all the dragons look angry and or evil? Where are the good dragons?

I've bought several Jade Summer coloring books and I love them all. So when I saw the cover of the Dragon coloring book and read the reviews I had to order it. But when I began looking through the illustrations I noticed that with the exception of the cover picture, almost every dragon looked diabolical and pissed off. There was nothing royal in these pictures, just painful anger. I'm sorry Jade. I just don't feel the cover really represented what I expected to see. Have you considered showing more than one illustration for review? In my case this would have been most helpful. Still a fan. Katie

I personally don't see the need for duplicates. Once I start a pic I just go with it whether I like how it's coming or not. The PDF file is nice but would be better is if the PDF contained different pics. For the price though, not bad.
