Be warned. Once you start reading this book, you cannot put it down! I found myself sneakng in every opportunity to read, even in the bathroom! Yeah, it's that good. This book is like your bff; its informative, inspirational and hilarious!! Personally, I wrestled with food and weight for years! I so much resonated with this author and the book's content. I just had to stop and review this book. Somebody needs to be set free! I don't believe this is coincidence; I've actually tried and tested some of the similar approaches in this book and I can tell you this works! Besides, I still gleaned a lot more just from reading it! This is choke-full of insights.This author details years of struggling with food and weight, from an obese child who was taken to her first fat clinic at age 7 to an anorexic 13 year old, to enduring a stretch of nine years bulimia, to being admitted into an inpatient recovery unit to stop the binge-purge cycle at age 22, on and on... Phew! This is no fluff material right here! This is the real deal tried and tested advice and gem of a resource. Simply put, this is your 'it' or your loved one's it, to stop that recurring bad dream of constantly dieting to lose weight! This author is your buddy to sit down & and tap into the secret to lose and mantain a healthy weight and lifestyle. You will feel so close to the author like as if you've known her forever. Chapter 12 made a world of difference in my life. Trying to balance life as a full-time entrepreneur, mom, and wife, I felt like none of these things were getting the best part of me. I was always too tired to give my best. Dr. Collins suggests vitamin-packed, green smoothies to help increase my energy. I knew that if I could just feel better, I could be a better wife and mom. After trying Dr. Collins suggestion to "blend, pour and take 'em out the door" I have a whole new outlook on life again. I'm never too busy to eat healthy now. I have the energy to give my all to everything that I endeavor. I don't need as much sleep and I never get sick. My kids have a mom that participates in their activities and my husband has his happy wife back. Thank you, Dr. Collins!
Finally a logical diet book that makes sense. This is the path that I discovered accidentally years ago when I was helping my two daughters find something that worked. It's a common sense approach. Part of training your body to eat less is just to stop letting your eyes guide your stomach. Putting reasonable practical limits on eating means no more calorie counting. Use wisdom, stay away from sugar and high fat foods. Retrain your brain to be hungry for quality food like fruits and veggies by simply eating more of them. Be persistent. Eventually the desires for unhealthy foods start to dissipate. Don't go for big weight loss challenges. Go for something that is reachable, plan to take a year or longer. As you retrain your eating habits and use self-discipline, your weight will slowly and gradually drop. Make small changes that you can live with. Don't worry about the occasional slip up. Stop eating before you are full. Don't sit down in front of the tv with a bag of chips. Take a handful and put the bag away. Out of sight, out of mind. You can do this.
As someone who has tried every diet out there, this book resonated with me. You cannot be walking on egg shells all the time, worried about slip ups.This book provides a real, practical and DO-ABLE approach to weight loss. If you are tired of trying the next thing, or tired of the diet that worked being less effective the next time you go on it, then read this book. Dr Collins' book "No More Dieting!" Is excellent and should be a read for everyone that struggles with weight loss. We seem to be a society that goes from one diet to the next with none of them really working for the long term. The author explains with expertise that we are approaching the challenge of weight loss in a way that doesn't change our frame of mind and that is why we are not successful. By taking the steps she outlines in her book, implementing them into your mindset, and daily life practice you can achieve permanent weight loss. The author has a section on weight loss drugs which is very informative and often not seen in such detail in other books.
Absolutely eye opening! It makes so much sense, I’ve tried every diet under the stars and nothing has been a good long-term fit for my lifestyle. I appreciate how the NMD (No More Dieting) method allows me to eat what I desire in a moderate and cautious way. This book has been both inspirational and encouraging in guiding me to plan for a successful future in weight loss. Thank you Dr. Collins for writing a light-hearted, relatable, and instructional book on weight loss that makes me excited to start my road to great health and guiltless eating.
