I really enjoyed reading this story and the other ones in this series. This one is about Liam McGregor and Lady Millicent Thatcher.Lady Millicent is trying to find her sister Felicity. Her father is the Marquess of Trentington and he is abusive and cruel. He disowned both his daughters and Felicity was pregnant. Millie knew that she lived near Whitechapel. She found out that her sister had died while she was giving birth to her son, which was a twin to the daughter she had earlier.Different events happen but I know that this story needs to be read. Also the other books in this series you will enjoy reading.

Approached at a friend’s wedding, Liam McGregor was intrigued by the bold Lady Millicent Thatcher, until she made her request. Having barely escaped WhiteChapel with his life, Liam refused to assist in the search for her sister. Meeting each other again at Edison Textiles, Liam listened and finally understood Lady Millicent’s need to find her sister and her child.As they bond over the mutual need to protect the information discovered, Liam also realizes that he is in love with her. There is more than one evil villain in this historical romance and a few very surprising secrets for Liam and his lady love.

Daunting obstacles are in their path, and they must work together to overcome them. I loved Millicent, for her bravery, and devotion to her family. A Five Star Read!

Laura Landon's writing style makes fun, light, interesting stories which are "clean" but targeted to adults. I have enjoyed this series so far and look forward to the "Thief". I found the two villains coming from two extremely different classes of society to be a clever, unique aspect which offered believable contrasts and emotional tension to make the story meaningful and heartwarming. The larger setting of England's fledgling garment industry with treadle sewing machines add color and depth. Nice job

Four stars, typical outline of the other two books..But a good book...Millie had serious family prob along the evil daddy line..Liam had a childhood of being abandon having been born on wrong side...Now an adult an now a successful business man...Helps Millie in a family search which almost kills him...His past and her present life comes together in an explosion...Which after much misunderstandings are smooth out for a happy ending...

Liam MacGregor had survived the slums of London and knew he did not have anything to offer a wife and children. As he attended the wedding of another of his friends, he knew life was too precarious. Little did he know that his life was about to change when he heard a lady say his name. Lady Millicent threw away all propriety when she introduced herself and asked for his help. But she asked for the one thing he felt he could not do which was go into the place he tried to forget, to look for her sister.But fate often has other ideas and the story begins. Laura Landon always pulls me into her stories quickly and this was no exception! A wounded hero, a lady that has had her share of hardships and an almost impossible situation that may not end well. Prepare to be thoroughly entertained in this third book in the series! This can be read as a standalone but you will enjoy each story of four gentlemen who have overcome their beginnings!!

Heartache and danger surround both of our protagonists, and there is a nice mystery to solve.A very enjoyable read that is part of a series, but easily read on it's own.Good fun.
